We had the pleasure of fishing with Mike and his friends on Sunday. We jigged and trolled for striped bass and bluefish all morning, during the Flood tide. The action was OK, but not what we were hoping for. Decided to switch over and do some fluking in the afternoon and the boys did a great job of keeping the rods bent. Lots of shorts in the mix, but quality fish as well.  Awesome day on the water! 

Matt and his Villanova college buddies spent Saturday morning with us and we had a blast catching striped bass and bluefish. We stuck with the diamond jigs which paid off nicely. No huge fish, but plenty to send home with them for dinner.

NRC first-timers Joe and Franck, along with their kids, came out for an afternoon trip today. The fishing started off a little slow but the group stuck with it. We jigged striped bass and bluefish, putting a few fish in the box for their dinner. Great day and had a blast with the kids. Hoping they’ll make this an annual trip!

First-timers Brian and gang spent this afternoon with us. We stuck with the jigs and the guys kept busy from start til stop catching striped bass and bluefish. No big fish just yet, but Jake landed his very first keeper striped bass, which made the trip well worth it.

Despite a little rain early this morning, Krystine and Brandon helped us kickoff our 2020 season jigging a few striped bass and bluefish. The duo also put some scup in the box. And, of course, proper social distancing was in effect!

Andrey, Igor and gang returned for a second trip with us this season, with some of the group coming all the way from Moscow. The fishing wasn’t as good as it’s been in prior weeks and it took a while to get them chewing. However, the gang hung in there despite the freezing temps and wind and put together a catch for the evening’s dinner. Looking forward to getting them out again next summer!

We had a windy and soaking wet ride over to the fishing grounds and the bite started off slowly. But Nick and the boys stuck with it and were rewarded with three dozen blackfish for the box and at least twice that many shorts. Frigid day, but we’ll worth the catch of tog! 

The wind blew all day, but wind with tide made it nice for us sitting on the hook. Tom, his dad and buddies kept the rods bent from start til stop, loading up with more than two dozen tog for the box and numerous others. Great day on the water with these first-timers and hope to see them again next fall.
