July 9, 2024 (Trip 2)

The bass were chewing for Nicolle and her crew this afternoon. We had 20-25 fish up to 45 pounds on jigs. Lots of laughs and great memories today.

July 9, 2024 (Trip 1)

Today was about as foggy as it gets, but that didn’t stop the Kern team. We caught plenty of striped bass, all were over the slot size. We went bottom fishing for a bit, and sent them home with plenty of fillets.

We had our long time customer Mark out with us today. They spent the day loading up with jumbo sea bass and scup. Glad we were able to get them out, after having to cancel last year due to bad weather.

July 7, 2024

We had the pleasure of fishing with Evandro, Nico, and their friends today. This year they booked a full day trip, and we spent the time together catching striped bass and sea bass. There continues to be tons of huge striped bass in the area, and we released most of the fish that we caught, except for two which we put in the cooler for dinner. We had a pretty good sea bass bite as well, and ultimately sent the group home with plenty of meat. All in all, another successful trip and we’ll look forward to seeing them again in 2025!

July 6, 2024 (Trip 2)

After a 2023 cancellation and an almost 2024 cancellation again due to weather, we made it out with Geoff and gang for a fun afternoon of bottom fishing. The striped bass were picky this morning, so we didn’t spend much time on them in the afternoon. But the sea bass and scup bite provided plenty of action and meat for dinner. Plenty of laughs and rod bending with this group. Hoping we’ll see them again next summer.

July 6, 2024 (Trip 1)

The striped bass were very picky this morning for Tom and the boys. We tried the umbrella rigs, same as we caught them yesterday, but couldn’t get a bite. We switched things up and put the diamond jigs in the water. That produced some decent action with overs and slots, and some other fish in the mix. Not a slaughter by any means, but the boys went home with some meat for dinner, including striped bass, bluefish and scup. We’ll see them again next summer!

July 5, 2024

We had first timer Ramsey and his sons, John and Riley, out with us this afternoon. It was a little bit slow to start, but when the bass bite turned on, it was nonstop. The trio kept their three fish for dinner, and released numerous others. Hope we’ll have a chance to see them again sometime soon.

July 3, 2024

Chris and the boys had a fine day of fishing. We jigged lots of bass, mostly overs, keeping two for the table. Then went bottom fishing, putting 5 in the box, as well as some sea bass.
