It was a bumpy ocean for first-timer Frank and his group. We were hoping for calmer conditions, but the wind never let up and the sea never laid down. But the striped bass still chewed their heads off! It took about a half hour for the bite to turn on, but it was then nonstop until the guys had enough and called it a day. A few slots made it into the box and at least a dozen overs were released. Good fishing to say the least!

It’s been a few years, and we had a blast having Josh, Lauren, Jen and little seven year old Charlie back on the boat with us today. The conditions were less than ideal, with a lot of wind. However, the gang did a great job with the striped bass. They took one slot home for dinner and released a handful of overs before calling it an early trip and coming back to the dock. We’ll see them again next June! Didn’t snap a lot of pics, but here’s a great one of Jen and Lauren on the rod with a slot striped bass, an oversized, striped bass, and a bluefish on the way to the boat!

We were able to get Erik out, after canceling his August trip. The boys caught some of the biggest bass they have ever seen. After they had enough of that, we caught a limit of sea bass, and even had a bonus fluke.

Robert couldn’t make today’s trip, but made sure the party went on anyway. We caught some over sized bass, as well as a slot. Then topped things off with a few sea bass. Feel better buddy!

We had the FDNY boys out for the annual Pollard tournament. They were able to get 3 slots, as well as a bunch of overs. Made a quick stop and caught 2 dozen sea bass as well.

The fish cooperated nicely for Mikes annual trip. We had bass of all sizes, keeping one for the grill. Then they loaded up on sea bass. Always lots of laughs with these guys.

September 14, 2024 (Trip 2)

After having to cancel last year’s trip with Dan and the boys due to nasty weather, it was so great to have them out with us again this afternoon. The striped were not cooperative, so we didn’t spend much time fishing for them. Instead, we decided to go bottom fishing, and the guys put together a nice catch for dinner, including fluke, see bass and scup. We’ll see you boys again on September 13, 2025!

September 14, 2024 (Trip 1)

We had a fun morning bending the rods with Tim and gang. A few striped bass and bluefish to start, followed by a nice pick of jumbo sea bass kept these NRC first-timers busy.
