On Saturday afternoon, we had our first trip with David Schwartz and his family, including his two young sons Cameron and Justin. With the kids on the boat, we decided that fluke may be a better target than bass, so we ran to Frisbies. We had a decent pick of fluke and sea bass throughout the trip. There were lots of small fish so we moved around a few times within the area to put a catch together. Although we cut the trip a little short since not everyone was enjoying the ocean as much as others, we were still able to send the gang home with dinner. Hoping we'll have the pleasure of fishing with them again!

We sailed with four other boats for a Nautica corporate event on Saturday morning. We left the dock at 8:00 a.m. and ran straight to the North Rip to pull chutes. We had instant and consistent action with bass and monster bluefish. After only 90 minutes, the group had enough and was ready to return. It was a shame since the fishing was good, but they wanted only a few bass and bluefish, so we took a share for the gang and left the fish biting.

The November Rain sailed this morning with the Matejovs. Steve and I weren't able to make this trip, but the couple had the pleasure of fishing with Captain John.

Fluking was on the agenda and the boat headed to Frisbees. John put them on the meat and they had their fair share of fluke up to 7lbs and plenty of sea bass. Wish we could have been there. There's nothing like being on the water! John's no photographer, but he did manage to snap one pic at the board.

The boat is open this Sunday, the 24th. If you're interested in fishing with us, please give me a call at 646.335.7315.

On Tuesday, July 12th, we had the pleasure of fishing with my father and his girlfriend Debbie. They weren't looking for a slaughter; rather, they each wanted only one fish to take home. Piece of cake! We were going to bait fish but decided to give the wire a quick try at the North Rip. I'm glad we did as we had instant action. These weren't the slobs my father had last year (fish up to 40lbs), but they were enough for din din. We tried for fluke as well and had a few fish, although neither wanted any more than their one bass (imagine every trip was like that!). After a few hours, they were both ready to head back in for an afternoon at the pool, so we called it a short day and returned to the dock!

On Sunday, July 10th, we sailed with 4-year old Dylan Charmack and his parents Nancy & Rich and grandfather Matt. Capt. Steve ran this trip on his own as I wasn't able to make it and he did a great job of putting the family on some fish. The adults were most concerned with finding some action for Dylan, so Steve decided to focus on porgies and fluke. He fished the Treasure Hole and other nearby bottom and had a mix of both.

We've still got open dates this summer and fall. If you are interested in fishing with us, please give me a call (646.335.7315) or send us an email. And, quite frankly, as I've said before, even if you fish with another boat, I will tell you the same thing -- it is worth the trip out east!! Anyone reading these fishing reports knows that the action is great in Montauk! Hope you can get out here!
