We picked up an unexpected trip this morning and had the good fortune of spending much of the day on the water. Fishing could have been a little better. Plenty out there, but had to weed through the bluefish to find the bass. And then had to weed through the shorts to find 28+ inches. We managed to put a few fish in the box and had a great time with these first-timers. Looking forward to getting them out again later this season! A few action shots on the way...

Great way to start the morning!
Great shot of the guys––first timers to Montauk and on the NOVEMBER RAIN.
First trip of the 2016 season was a great one! A little early for fluke season, so it was an afternoon of catch-n-release, but some nice flatties nonetheless. Was great to see the rods bent again. Nothing better than being on the water, and a great group of guys made for an afternoon of laughs!
Catch-n-release fluke all afternoon.
Awesome morning on the water today. A little chilly, but no wind, plenty of sunshine and an abundance of sea bass. Not to mention non-stop laughs with a great gang. The rods were bent from start til finish. Couldn't ask for a better trip!

Today we fished with first-timers Matt Larson and crew. The guys decided to try for sea bass, which fortunately did not disappoint. A little sloppy while drifting, but they still managed to put together a nice catch of sea bass as well as about a dozen scup. Gotta love October.

The guys stop for a quick photo in between drifts.

The togs are finally chewin! Sailed this afternoon with Kevin Wish and the boys. Was a coin toss between blackfish and sea bass. Glad we chose the togs. Had a great afternoon on the water with a limit of blackfish. Plenty of shorts in the mix as well to keep the rods bent. Hoping to do it again tomorrow!

We had the pleasure of seeing Kevin Braun and the boys for their annual trip on the NOVEMBER RAIN today. The bass bite continued to be pretty much non-existent, though we did manage to find one lone striped bass swimming in a world of bluefish. Bottom fishing, however, was great, with a limit of sea bass and a few scup. A little lumpy today, but well worth making the trip. Tons of laughs with the guys, as usual. Looking forward to seeing them next year!
